Here’s a new year story that will never get old, and definitely one for the ages! Check out how Jamil Ahmed battled the risky roads to Mechuka and conquered them all!🙌🏼 “I and two of my colleagues decided to celebrate New Year Evening in Mechuka.🎆 We were told to bring a car with enough ground clearance by the host. We decided on Kushaq for its space and backseat comfort. We topped up the engine oil before the trip as Kushaq was nearing 12k KM on the odometer and the roads we were about to take were demanding.🚘 Roads to Mechuka from Tezpur, Assam are a mixture of both plains and high mountain climbs.⛰️ The first 6-7 hrs of the drive are in the plains, and it is where Kushaq shines the most. Kushaq stayed planted throughout, and the back seat was comfortable. Next, when we entered Arunachal Pradesh, roads were a combination of potholes, mud, steep climbs, and descends. In the next 12-hour journey we climbed some scary steeps and hairpins with offroad-like conditions. Kushaq was carrying us forward with great enthusiasm, and the mountain climbing capability of the tiny engine of Kushaq Active really impressed us.👍🏼 We were sure we had to fill normal petrol in Mechuka, but to our surprise, Kushaq was so economical on Mountains. Once in Mechuka, we went near the China border and that place had some snow. Kushaq felt very confident on those sparsely snow-covered roads.❄️ We didn’t go into fully snow-covered roads as we didn’t have chains.🛣️ On the return trip, we did it on a single go with 19 hours of driving (all three of us drove) and a few snack/meal breaks. Kushaq was much faster to descend partially because of good braking performance and partially because we got accustomed to mountain driving.🏔️ In a few stretches of beautiful roads we encountered, we didn’t hear any rattle. In short, we took the Kushaq on a beautiful Valley through tough mountain roads. From Bangalore to Rann of Kutch to Ahmedabad, enjoy the glimpses of Nitesh Sinha's more than four thousand kms long road trip that transported back to his childhood. 🥰 “The year 2022 has been more about checking bucket list items. I had been thinking of doing a road trip to Rann of Kutch for a few years now 🏜️ My perfect partner for this trip was my wife Anjali, and my Dec 2020 Skoda Rapid Onyx TSI, whom I dearly call Gloria. 🚘 I travelled to a few well-established cities to explore the architectural heritage and a few remote villages. 🏘️ This trip extended over 12 days comprising 3 states, as I count Karnataka too since I travelled a lot within the state before hitting the Maharashtra border and then subsequently Gujarat, and with 4830kms of the road travelled, and this is the longest road trip I have done till date in a car. 🛣️ I would like to thank my wife Anjali and my car, for keeping our sanity and patience in check. ☺️ My car is 2 years old and has already completed 35000 kms and has served me well till date. In fact, the 2 years anniversary 🎉was proudly celebrated at Rann of Kutch white desert.
